Online Therapy in Massachusetts
I am licensed to practice counseling in Massachusetts and offer online therapy to adults in the state. I’m Dr. Christopher Harris, PhD, LPC, and I have 20 years of experience in mental health. My specialties include anxiety, depression, and life transitions, including retirement, job loss, and divorce. If you’re considering reaching out, you may already know which concern you want to discuss, or you may have a question about online therapy itself.
Choosing what to share
When you write to a counselor for the first time, it can be tempting to try to explain everything at once. A short message is a reasonable place to start. For example, you might say that you’re an adult in Massachusetts looking for online therapy for anxiety and that you would like to learn more about working together.
You can take the same approach if depression or a life transition is the reason you’re looking for counseling. You might prefer to ask about my experience with a particular concern before sharing much of your own story. Or you might want to put a question in your own words, especially if more than one concern is on your mind.
Questions about meeting online
As you consider therapy, think about what you’d like to know before an appointment. How would you join an online session? What would you like a counselor to understand about why you’re reaching out now? Which questions would you rather talk through than put in writing?
If you’re exploring online therapy in Massachusetts, you’re welcome to contact my practice with whichever question feels most important to you.
