FAQ

  • I am in-network with Aetna.

If you don’t have Aetna, this doesn’t mean you cannot still use your insurance, as you may be able to use out-of-network benefits. While you’ll be responsible for paying your session fee upfront to me directly, you may be able to get some portion of reimbursement from your insurance company. Please be aware when checking your insurance benefits, as benefits are NOT a guarantee of payment. You will have no way of knowing for sure what a benefit looks like until you submit a superbill that gets processed by the insurance company. I am happy to provide a superbill to you as a courtesy and upon request, however, I do not engage in any communication or correspondence with insurance companies.

  • Engaging in therapy weekly, especially at the beginning of treatment, is most effective for our work together. Session frequency has an important impact on the delivery of successful therapy, and weekly sessions allow us to build our therapeutic relationship, which requires a foundation of safety and trust. Duration of the therapeutic relationship is open-ended and may change as your goals are met and new needs emerge.

  • No there is no charge for the exploratory call. We will discuss any questions or concerns you may have and what to expect in the first session.

  • Unexpected things come up from time to time, so canceling or rescheduling your appointment is understandable. I request at least a 24 hour notice for non-emergency cancellations, otherwise you are responsible for the cost of the session via the late cancellation/no show fee. You can re-schedule appointments easily through contacting me via email.
